Ever wanted to be in the movies? Well here’s your chance people! Videopia is an interactive movie making activity that casts, shoots, and screens miniature tributes to Hollywood classics. Think ‘Son of Rambow’ or ‘Be Kind Rewind’ with you in the starring role.
Hailed by Time Out as “simply the best new night in the capital”, Videopia began as a west London club night in 2009, before transporting it’s makeshift film set to the fields of British festivals in 2010. Anyone who acted in last summer’s remakes of ‘Ghostbusters’ at Bestival will be itching to put on a silly wig and get in front of the camera again.
This summer Videopia will be parking up their mobile movie studio at Bestival, inviting revellers to step aboard the converted vintage horsebox to undergo a DIY silver screen treatment.
With a selection of iconic films to choose from, you simply pick your favourite movie, grab some co-stars, and get into costume before acting your socks off in front of the camera. The miniature masterpieces will be screened at the Videopia cinema before being uploaded onto the Videopia blog for your family, friends and newly acquired fan-base to see – a very silly memento of a brilliant weekend!
